Thanks for bringing this out. I thought that it was a "personal" problem on my '99 Savage. Buzzing from speedo unit - annoying to say the least. Funny thing though, in cold weather, no buzz. I can momentarily stop it by pushing up, sideways or down on the unit, but as soon as I take my hand off it's back. Silicone sounds like the answer, I'm also going to fabricate and install an additional thin soft plastic gasket under the unit. Let you'all know if works.
